As a qualified engineer in the shipping industry since 1981, Erdogan Yucel identified a gap in the South African market for quality automotive parts which were expertly manufactured yet affordable.
1994 saw the birth of Yucel with distribution of quality automotive parts for the aftermarket industry as the primary function. The company prospered and branches were opened throughout SA. As an expert in the engineering field, the progression into product research and development was natural.20 Years later, due to the increasing demand, it became obvious that a solution needed to be found. Our manufacturing plant was the answer.
Today the plant boasts 2400 square metres with a capacity of 75 000 sets of brake pads per month. Optima has been established as a superior brake pad for the passenger and light commercial vehicle markets. Our technical researchers are currently in the process of developing products for heavy duty vehicles as well as a product in the brake lining field. We are excited to announce the launch of the new product lines for later this year. Optima brake focuses on providing a flexible and fast service, short delivery time, approved quality and competitive prices.
Optima disc brake pads are tested by ECE90,SABS and authorised by the NRCS.
