Toyota Starlet Rack end

- Tie rod ends are ball-and-socket joints with a threaded shaft
- They transfer steering input from the rack to the wheels
- Critical for steering control and wheel alignment
Types:
Inner Tie Rod Ends:
- Attach directly to the steering rack
- Usually hidden behind the steering rack boot
- Connect to the outer tie rod ends via an adjustable sleeve
Outer Tie Rod Ends:
- Connect to the steering knuckle/spindle
- Visible from wheel well
- Have a castle nut and split pin for safety
Common Starlet models:
- EP80/EP90 series (1990s models – 1.3L)
- EP91/EP95 (Glanza, 1.3L)
- Most had manual steering (non-power steering)
